Rhythm Weave: Free Your Voice while Drumming:
Explore polyrhythms and learning and playing 1 rhythm while different people hold 2 other rhythms (works the ear and focus!) We focus on West African rhythms and sing songs from around the world in 3 part harmony from the oral tradition. We also do a lot of freeform playing and improvising and community-building exercises as we unleash our creativity. Jamming, expressive arts with the drum and voice, and lots of fun and joy.
We will learn 4 different West African polyrhythms (4/4 and 6/8) and 4 different songs to create a symphony of sound. Full body bliss!
Suitable for all levels, including beginners. Bring a djembe, cajon, doumbek.

This class is located right on 8th and Market in SF at Civic Center BART. Street parking is available.
What should/shouldn't I bring to class?
-Wear comfortable attire and shoes.
-Bring water

The class series is not refundable but we can credit to a future series with advance notice or you can transfer to someone else.
