Hear Dewey Crumpler and Lewis Watts talk about their individual art practices and discuss how their backgrounds, social times, politics, and culture have influenced how they think about the world and activate it through their art.
Dewey and Lewis are renowned artists--contemporaries of many of the artists featured in "Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power". They have both been working, teaching, and creating in the Bay Area for many years.
Talk will be followed by a book signing of Lewis Watts's "Harlem of the West".
This program is part of our Free Saturdays celebration of the exhibition, "Soul of a Nation".
