Francisco The Man, Big Harp

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Francisco The Man: Indie rockers Francisco the Man hail from LA, and bring the sunny weather with them. Upbeat tunes with an array of pop influences make for easy listening -- folk, garage rock, and psych all weave together nicely to craft a product that music nerds and pop fans alike won't be able to resist. Lead singer Scotty wields his falsetto and rock wail with expertise while band members make a fearsomely catchy indie noise -- none of them are named Francisco by the way (rumor states it's a reference to "One Hundred Years of Solitude"). Tracks explore emotion, without losing the pop accessibility that draws in the listeners. For the most part, Francisco The Man puts out high-energy indie rock and roll, but aren't afraid to drift into quieter, more thought provoking moments without losing a beat. It's all part of the fine songcraft that this four-piece has been working on for years. The band started a long way away from where they are now, in the wasteland of Riverside back in the dark days of 2008, and have shed their skin a few times in order to become this radio worthy indie act that owns the stage. After years of playing around the West Coast and beyond, the group finally put out a full-length record -- and on renowned Fat Possum, no less! Through progress and experimentation, they've landed on a sound that is sure to ensnare the ears. Live, the band hurls through the a million seemingly disparate sounds (shoegaze, sunshiney pop, alternative, and more) with the energy of young men on a mission. From the opening moment, you'll be hooked -- you won't soon forget Francisco The Man.
