Timed for Valentines Day, Diane Epstein’s Art Lovers’ Exhibit, An Untold Love Story, is the setting for a creative experience. On February16th, amid Epstein’s three Fresco Photography images of books at Room Art Gallery in Mill Valley, she plans to lead visitors to draw – or begin to write - their own layered love notes or enchanted, untold stories.
Epstein is also a professional counselor and a creativity coach, who focuses on bringing more love into the world. There are several chapters in Epstein’s story, including living twenty years in Italy, before returning to the Bay Area. As a photographer, while living in Italy, she created a technique she calls Fresco Photography, that, through multiple exposures, calls to mind the crumbling walls of Rome and ancient layers of paint.
At Room Art Gallery, Epstein’s Fresco Photography is in good company. Marc Chagall. Henri Matisse. Joan Miro. All are artists whose work is hanging on the walls of Room Art Gallery in Mill Valley all month.
Two of Epstein’s three images of books are ancient, from the Biblioteca Angelica in Rome, the Library of Angels. The third book, whose blank pages flutter, is about writing the new story. And, that’s where this new love story – and February 16th experience – comes in. http://www.epsteinphotography.com/exhibitions/
Epstein shoots architectural details, textural remnants and natural elements that evoke ancient times, paying reverence to nature, culture and imagination. This use of biophilic design breathes life back into interior spaces, encouraging serenity and aliveness. Along with galleries, Epstein’s photography graces homes, and the hospitality and branded environments, including flexible workspace, hotels, restaurants, healthcare and spa-like settings.
“Meet the Artist” is noon to 3pm on February 16th at Room Art Gallery at 86 Throckmorton Avenue, Mill Valley. Visitors to the gallery are invited to bring their own open book, and, from 1pm-2:30 pm, Epstein will guide them through a creative experience, to write or draw their own untold stories. The exhibit is open all February. http://www.epsteinphotography.com/about/
