Foothill Learning Curve Bike Circuit Race Is July 13
Proceeds from the Race Benefit an On-Campus Multi-Use Path
Foothill College hosts its fourth annual Learning Curve Bike Circuit Race, at which some 400 cyclists are expected to peddle around the 1.09-mile campus loop road, Sunday, July 13, in Los Altos Hills. Event registration begins at 7:15 a.m. and the first race begins at 8 a.m. Registration, race route, fees ($15–$35) and specific race start times are posted online at foothillcollegecircuitrace.com/.
The race is a fundraiser and proceeds will be used to build a pedestrian/bike path from El Monte Road to the pedestrian bridge that creates safer access for students and the community.
Foothill College is teaming up with the Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club to present the race. Held under USAC rules, the Foothill College Learning Curve Circuit Race categories include juniors, elite men, elite women and masters. Participants must present a current USA Cycling License at registration. A one-day or annual license may be purchased during online registration as well as on race day. There are no refunds.
Foothill’s Learning Curve Race is a member of Northern California Nevada Cycling Association (NCNCA) 2014 Women’s Race Series, NCNCA Junior Points Series and USA Cycling Road Development Race Series.
Cyclists and spectators should park in Lot 1 and walk to the race registration area, which is located at the pedestrian bridge adjacent to the Campus Center. Parking is free for race participants and spectators. All vehicular traffic access to the campus will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on race day as a safety measure to protect cyclists and spectators.
