Bring your botanical subjects to life by refining your drawing skills. Learn how to observe, measure and draw accurately to create a three-dimensional image. Focus will be on foreshortening and perspective.
A Supply List will be given to you once you register for the class or you can sign up in advance to use materials provided by the instructor during the workshop for a fee of $10.
Catherine Watters is a botanical artist and instructor who has taught at the UC Botanical Garden at Berkeley for 11 years and at Filoli for 20 years. Additionally, she teaches yearly classes in France and at Wellesley College near Boston. She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artist, currently serving on the Board of Directors. Her paintings appear in numerous publications and are included in several permanent collections in the U.S., France, England and Australia. She co-founded several florilegia, most recently The Alcatraz Florilegium and Le Florilège de Brécy in France.
