A dynamic flute duo from Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra (PBO) will guide listeners through a journey of music written for two baroque flutes by composers such as Hotteterre, Telemann and WF Bach. There will be side trips to "visit" the sounds of bagpipes, renaissance flute and the modern metal flute. Discover the variety of sounds and moods these instruments can evoke and learn how the instruments evolved over time.

Mindy Rosenfeld is fluent in the music of several eras and is a founding member of the Baltimore Consort with whom she tours. She has recorded extensively and has been a member of San Francisco's PBO since 1989.

Ms. Rosenfeld is principal flutist and soloist with the Symphony of the Redwoods and the Mendocino Music Festival. She has performed with numerous Bay Area ensembles. She earned a BA in flute performance from the Peabody Conservatory (Baltimore) and an MA in modern and Baroque flute performance from San Francisco Conservatory.

Stephen Schultz, called "among the most flawless artists on the Baroque flute" by the San Jose Mercury News and "flute extraordinaire" by the New Jersey Star-Ledger, plays solo and principal flute with PBO and Musica Angelica. He also performs with other leading early music groups and concert tours have taken him throughout Europe and South America.

A graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Holland, Schultz also holds several degrees from the California Institute of the Arts and the California State University of San Francisco. He is an associate teaching professor in music history and flute at Carnegie Mellon University and director of the Carnegie Mellon Baroque Orchestra. Mr. Schultz has also been a featured faculty member of the Jeanne Baxtresser International Flute Master Class at Carnegie Mellon University and has taught at the Juilliard School and the International Baroque Institute at Longy School of Music.
