Sarah Cahill, a pianist known for bringing "all the intangibles of a supreme and engaging performance onstage with her" (San Francisco Classical Voice), will perform with pianist Regina Myers as part of the eighth annual Flower Piano interactive music festival, on Wednesday September 9, 2023 at 1pm. Held at San Francisco Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park (1199 9th Ave.), the celebrated community event will once again bring unique live performances to the beautiful open air setting of San Francicso Botanical Garden.
For their part in this year's Flower Piano festivities, Cahill and Myers will team up to perform a lively and stylistically diverse program of music from over the last 100 years, including Phantom Waltz by Meredith Monk (1989); Tonk? by Billy Strayhorn and Duke Ellington, arranged by Jed Distler; The Decertified Highway of Dreams by "Blue" Gene Tyranny (1994); The Girl in My Alphabet for eight hands (joined by pianists Allegra Chapman and Monica Chew) by Errolyn Wallen (1990); and the U.S. premiere of Mamoru Fujieda's Sprites in the Large Camphor Tree for Four Hands. Attendees will find Cahill and Myers performing in the Garden of Fragrance as part of that afternoon's Duo Piano Program.
