"Flora And Aqua": Artists' Reception

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Four Barrel Coffee and The Mill are pleased to present "Flora And Aqua." This exhibition includes Bay Area based photographers whose pictures depict plantlife and seascapes and ocean waves. Paige Laverty and Austin Tovar each present both close up and distant views of the ocean, documenting their passions of surfing, being in the ocean, and the view of the world that this vantage point affords. David Baum takes black and white studio portraits of flowers. These close up, highly detailed photos highlight the texture and surface of the subject. He photographs his flowers as he might approach a portrait of a person, and the result is a compelling and sensitive composition. Kimberley Carr Harmon takes photos of nature in many different forms. Her selections for "Flora and Aqua" include close up shots of beautiful botanicals as well as abstract compositions of reflections of trees and clouds in water. As a whole, this exhibition maintains a calm and atmospheric color palette. It carries moments of both still and flow, near and far.

"Flora And Aqua" runs from August 15 through October 13 at The Mill in San Francisco. Join us on Thursday September 12 from 6-9pm for the artists' reception. Drinks will be served and the artists will be in attendance.

The Mill is a cafe and bakery that has been supporting artists with exhibitions since 2013. This exhibition is free and open to the public. The Mill is located at 736 Divisadero St., and is open from 7am until 9pm Tuesday through Saturday, 7am until 7pm on Sunday, and 7am until 6pm on Monday.
