Fleet Wood Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of "After A Long Distance, Another Long Distance, a group art show of extraterrestrial proportions.
In conjunction with First Thursday Art walk in the TL, this month's group show features new work from Bay Area artists: Ida Blantz, Vivian Blantz, Shannon Bodrogi, Laura Cohen, Joti Dee, Jian Giannini, Nicki Lang, Megan Madrigal, and Colin Wang. This month's show features installation work "The Cocoon." Voluminous and ethereal, The Cocoon is a space within space, enveloping and protecting those who enter it. Formed from wire and shoji paper, it responds to unseen air currents and reflects colors projected onto it as it subtly mirrors its environment. The Cocoon was created by Joti Dee and Aver Collective members Laura Cohen and Colin Wang. Laura Cohen and Ashley Skye Clayton will be performing from within The Cocoon as SPOOOKY BOOOOGIE. The show opens at Fleet Wood Gallery at 839 Larkin Street in San Francisco on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 from 6-10pm and runs through March 31, 2017.
