ABOUT THE FLASHPLAYS! FESTIVAL
See the work of all your favorite playwrights for a one-night extravaganza! Inspired by "Flash Fiction," FlashPlays! is a wild ride that that brings the Bay Area theatre community together for a roliking good time. FlashPlays! consists of 80+ one-minute plays penned by many of the best voices in American theatre today! And in the spirit of the season, we'll have some tasty holiday themed drinks and goodies available. Bring your friends and family for this unique theatrical event!Playwrights are selected by invitation and encouraged to write about contemporary themes such as “many voices of the other,” “Glitter City/Gritty City,” “Safe harbor & safe havens: sanctuary city,” and “tiny Pockets of Positivity and Joy”; as these themes emerge from the submissions, the plays are organically curated into clusters that reflect connected themes. Teams of directors and actors work to stage each cluster of plays. And the result: 80+ fully mounted plays of a minute or less, staged with bold creativity.
