Fine Art for you Study or Den

“Fine Art for Your Study or Den” New Paintings by Adam Cahoon

ArtZone 461 Gallery is pleased to announce a new exhibition and plans for a continuing program schedule, following the anticipated success of our ongoing Kickstarter campaign. Adam Cahoon has been assembling new works since late 2013 and has produced a cohesive body of work, now ready for exhibition starting the evening of Saturday May 10th. The date coincides with an afternoon “Sidewalk Sale” organized by the Valencia Street Merchants Association (VCMA) and the final week to contribute to our campaign.

Adam Cahoon’s new work transcends its show title: these are not “sofa sized” reproductions suitable for decorative purposes. Rather, as the Artist describes, “My new body of work consists of 18 paintings of traditional subject matters abstracted by, comprised of, or corrupted by geometric or organic elements.  My influences for the majority of this work are paintings traditionally found in Lodges, Dens and German Beer Halls, with a few pieces referencing classical works of art."

On the heels this new show is the Gallery’s sixth anniversary; ArtZone 461 opened June 22, 2008 with “Here and Now”, featuring the stable of artists exhibiting with the Gallery at the time, as well as a fundraising event for local non-profit Visual Aid. In an arena of the 2008 worldwide financial crisis, it is remarkable that the Gallery remains open in spite of several obstacles beyond merely the financial situation.

Opening Reception Saturday May 10, 5:00 – 8:00 pm

Gallery Hours: 12-6 pm Wednesday-Sunday, occasional evenings and anytime by appointment
