Faun Fables, Scott Hawkins, Lazzarra

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Troubadours of animist, otherworldly folk music since 1998, FAUN FABLES are known for exquisite, visceral adventures in song and live performance. Dawn McCarthy's writing and voice (which THE NEW YORKER described as "one of the more compelling instruments in contemporary music") opens hearts and minds with a whisper to a rallying battle cry into her mythical world, animated by the adventurous musicality and vocals of partner Nils Frykdahl (Sleepytime Gorilla Museum). Dawn is active as a sessions singer, notably collaborating & singing on the Bonnie 'Prince' Billy albums 'THE LETTING GO' (Drag City, 2006 ) with producer Valgeir Sigurdsson and 'What the Brothers Sang' (Drag City, 2013 ) in Nashville with producer David Ferguson .
FAUN FABLES have been touring the club, theater, grass roots and festival circuits of North America and Europe since 1998, and are releasing their eighth record on DRAG CITY RECORDS in 2024. In 2022 they emerged from the worldly quarantine debuting their family band~ joined onstage by their daughters with vocals, percussion, keyboard & dance.

Scott Hawkins, Front man and guitar virtuoso for the band Melting Elephants will open the night with a solo set of his own music.
