GLAZED AND CONFUSED: INTRO TO CERAMICSChristopher Squier6 Sessions >> Wednesdays, September 25- October 307:30-10:30pm, Studio 106, $295
This course provides an introduction to the exciting sculptural possibilities of ceramics, with an emphasis on concept development. Focus will be placed on the fundamental techniques from initial concept sketches through a variety of ceramic hand-building processes, including coils and slabs; wheel-thrown forms; and decoration using underglazes, relief, sgraffito, or stenciling. Each student will have the opportunity to complete a final three-dimensional sculpture from clay for a final class critique.
