ADVANCED PHOTOGRAPHY TUTORIAL

Prerequisite: Recommended for advanced photographers.
Creating projects or bodies of work can be a helpful way of gaining control over your artistic production; they serve as a means of setting boundaries, making timelines, and determining what makes your work your own. In this course you will further develop personal projects in an intensive tutorial fashion. During the first two sessions, you will share work, discuss artistic goals, and develop a meeting schedule. The class will then break up into small groups of three based on your interests, meeting every three weeks throughout the semester. This course aims to provide you with enough space between sessions to make substantive progress and receive focused, dedicated feedback to advance your practice.

Chris Grunder is an artist living and working in San Francisco. He received his BA in History and Art History in 2007 from the University of Washington and his MFA in Photography from SFAI. He has worked as a freelance retoucher, digital technician, and fine art printer since 2008. His work has been exhibited widely in the Bay Area, including shows at Some Thing Spacious, Oakland; double Bread (dB), San Francisco; and de Young Museum, San Francisco. He is a co-director and curator at Bass & Reiner, a gallery dedicated to the promotion of emerging artists.

For courses that meet for ten sessions or more , a 100% refund minus a $20 processing fee is given if written notice is received at least five business days before the first class. After five business days before the first class, an 80% refund minus a $20 processing fee is given when written notice is received prior to the third class.
