Meet Boulder, Colorado's leading fine artist, Will Day, as he brings his works to San Francisco for 6 weeks only. Each of the works in Exaltation tells a story, invokes emotion and inspires you to see the joy in life. Day knows we all face pain and fear, he uses art to show how light can shine through the broken pieces in all of us. Open your heart and listen to the message each piece is sharing.
Day creates textures, layers, and effects layers, discovering relationships and using resulting edges to create structure. Working on multiple paintings at the same time, he reaches for an emotional power based in grand design that yet defies limits, which he believes he attains through grace.
Day's journey to become an artist is unconventional and fascinating. After a stint with the peace corps, a financial career on Wall Street, watching his wife survive the collapse of Tower 2 when the World Trade Center was hit, and a second career in architecture - Day still longed to find a voice for his emotions. Like all of us, he struggled with fear, anxiety and concern of living up to expectations. Painting behind his garage, he was able to open up and let his emotions tell a story on the canvas. Now he is confident and exuberant. And painting allows him to control his ADHD without prescriptions.
