Within underground screamo and hardcore circles, Redwood City's Comadre are gods. (Well, maybe not gods, they hate all that rockstar hero-worship) In their later years, they didn't play all very often, then finally hung up their heels about a year ago to the dismay of their fans. Rest assured, guitarist Jack Shirley (Who also owns/operates recording studio Atomic Garden in East Palo Alto) has a new band, and they're playing their first show ever this Friday, and even have a 7" scheduled for release on June 26. The band also features members from Know Secrets and No Babies. Based off the one song they've leaked, called "The Sea inside," the group is an organ-driven melding of heart-on-the-sleeve hardcore and energetic garage-rock. (Aaron Carnes)
