It seems hard to believe, but we opened Envelop SF's doors to the public 18 months ago. During that time, we have shared over 140 events with audiences, including live performances, workshops, yoga classes, sound baths, and deep listening sessions to iconic albums. Our mission to amplify the power of music is starting to bear fruit, and Envelop is showing the world a different vision of what a venue can be: a space to listen with intent and connect meaningfully with each other.We also reached another milestone this year: the release of our free and open source Envelop for Live software for artists to create immersive content for the Envelop venues as well as new media formats like AR and VR. Since then, we have had more than 10,000 downloads of the software and have fostered a highly engaged community of more than 500 users actively participating in our Facebook group. The future of music composition and performance is immersive, and Envelop is paving the way through both its venues and its software tools.As we begin to grow Envelop beyond San Francisco, we are reaching entirely new communities. Our first pop-up in Salt Lake City opened this month to sold-out events. This expansion is a model that can scale our audiences to cities around the world.However, as we have expanded our reach and impact, so has our need for funding. Due to the intimacy and small capacity of Envelop SF, our revenue generated per event is quite limited. After production expenses and the Envelop nonprofit administration, we are left with minimal funds to invest in growth and support of artists.We need your financial support to continue revolutionizing how we can all listen to music together. Your donations will go directly to Envelop, sustaining our operations and providing a modest artist stipend per event. It will also support our Artist in Residency program, which will allow us to provide studio and engineer time to assist artists in crafting special compositions and unique performances for our Envelop spaces.We would love to invite you to an intimate fundraising dinner and concert on December 16, 2018 to support our mission, learn about what we accomplished together over the past 1.5 years, and to join a conversation about the future ahead of us.Music is one of our greatest tools to bring people together, in peace, inspiration, celebration, and simply listening. Music is a medicine that can help us heal our divides.
