Piperwire is launching a new style of entertainment for the Bay Area public: roving, themed, pop-up dining experiences.
Not to be confused with dinner theater, Piperwire chooses one theme per four-night-run and sources off-the-grid venues, interactive entertainment and immersive décor, for a whimsical moving feast served in innovative ways. The main focus is on delicious food and having a good time…in Oakland.
The inaugural dining experience will start April 19, 2016 with the theme Enchanted Garden and will take place at a secret location in Oakland. Guests are instructed to wear comfortable (garden chic), shoes and can expect slightly uncouth unicorns, a gracious Mother Earth hostess, sprites and other enchanting characters, as well as fun thoughtful touches and a few surprises along the way. The location of the secret garden is sent to all guests via text message 2 hours prior to their seating time.
Piperwire has pledged to purchase all possible ingredients from Oakland urban farms and local food co-ops. And a portion of the ticket sales will go to Global Glimpse, an Oakland based non-profit that provides scholarships and leads hands-on programs in developing nations for Oakland youth—giving them an international perspective to be global citizens and leaders of the future.
To insure an intimate experience, attendance maxes at 50 guests per seating. Ticket price includes a welcome drink, four ‘courses’ inspired by the theme, immersive environments, two glasses of wine, coffee, whimsical and interactive entertainment. The experience lasts approximately 2.5 hours and guests are welcome to bring their own wine, preferably in a portable container.
