Emily Gui: Related To Items You Recently Viewed
Join us for an opening reception on Saturday April 16 from 5-8pm.
Emily Gui is a Bay Area-based artist and educator. Using collections of discarded or overlooked commonplace objects as both subject and material, her recent work highlights a shift from utility to refuse, lingering on the relationship between consumer and object.
A selection of work made over the past two years reusing packaging materials and other found objects is currently on view 24/7 from outside the space.
Related To Items You Recently Viewed is our first exhibition with Emily Gui and our second [working] project at 536 Davis St.
[working] is operated by Problem Library, a non-profit organization that develops practical models for approaching complex problems in society with a focus on art, education and cultural infrastructure.
