Born in Kansas to a Puerto Rican family, Eladio Carrión started his career in entertainment as a comedian imitating rappers until a friend encouraged him to take the leap to performing his own songs and beats.
Now a rapper and a Latin trap star, Carrión is known for his smooth flow, prolific output and unexpected collaborations. His tune "Sin Frenos" featuring Argentine DJ Bizarrap and rapper Duki amassed more than 22 million views on YouTube in just a few months, as did his tune "Nota" featuring Argentine rapper Nicki Nicole.
Rolling Stone said that his 16-track, 2020 debut album, Sauce Boyz, is filled with "clever, comedic wordplay and sonic experiments that swerved from thudding, dramatic drill to caustic trap corridos." Several remixes followed the acclaimed record, as did the companion album Sauce Boyz 2, featuring bold production, uptempo beats and experimental synth pop elements. Rolling Stone also named Carrion's 2021 album, Monarca, as one of the 35 Best Spanish-Language and Bilingual Albums of 2021.
