Educators’ look into Josh Faught’s SECA Award project

For SFMOMA’s 2012 SECA Award, winners were asked to take their commissioned projects outside of the gallery context. Winner Josh Faught has taken his unique project out of the gallery and into the Neptune Society Columbarium. Faught, inspired by the idiosyncrasies of the space and personalized memorials, has installed his own hand-dyed and hand-woven sculptures in the columbarium. Educators may visit Faught’s site, take part in an artist-written hands-on classroom activity and meet with Faught himself for an insider’s scoop on his work.
