What: 2nd Education Options EXPO

The Education Options EXPO is an event where parents of PreK12 students meet with representatives of Montessori schools, democratic schools, home schooling and unschooling groups, and select public charter schools to learn about the educational options available to them.

Parents are empowered by learning about many different educational options in one location as they meet educational leaders and experts. Their questions can be answered quickly and completely in the forum-type setting.

Guest speakers include: Forbes Magazine's 30 Under 30 selection, and Thiel Fellowship recipient, Dale J. Stephens; Co-founder/Head of School at Casa di Mir Montessori, Wanda Whitehead; Founder of Beach High School, Wes Beach; Founder of Abrome (online learning community), Antonio Buehler; Co-Founders of HEART Academy (homeschool co-op), Crissi and Jere Allen; Family Consultant/Coach, Connie Allen (no relations to aforementioned).

"We are thrilled to empower parents through this Expo as we work with local schools and educational groups,” said David Rodriguez, Founder of Education Options EXPO. “The success stories coming from these innovative models of education inspire the audience and provide hope, as traditional 'one-size-fits-all' education is failing.”
The Education Options EXPO will host 15 exhibitors and 7 expert speakers, ranging from Montessori schooling, homeschooling, and online learning communities. The goal is give each student a chance to develop their unique talents and innate abilities.
Attendees are encouraged to pre-register and enter their name into a door raffle for a chance to win a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, although admission is free and registration is not required.

Interested individuals or groups can email [email protected] to pre-register for the event.

Why: The purpose of the Education Options EXPO is to empower parents and PreK12 students by introducing them to educational experts, innovative programs, and new educational ideas in a comfortable and friendly environment to ensure that each student reaches the full extent of their unique potential.

When: Saturday, October 4, 2014, 9:00am-4:00pm.

Where: Center for Spiritual Living, 1195 Clark Street, San Jose, CA 95125.
