DZINE Gallery | Artists in Conversation: Cracking Nutshells Night 1

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Join us for an evening conversation with a group of four talented artists as they discuss their original works of fine art featured in the exhibition Cracking Nutshells at DZINE Gallery. Mixed media artists Mimi Herbert, Carrie Ann Plank, Howard Hersh and Laura Hapka will share the methods and inspirations behind their works creatively exclusively for the show.
This is the first in a series of three evening conversations that will take place over the next three months. Each conversation will feature a different group of artists.
Our Artists in Conversation series strives to build community and open a dialogue between artists and with the public through curated talks in our gallery.
Curated by Philip Bewley, the Cracking Nutshells exhibition explores themes of construction and deconstruction in various media. The exhibition features work by 32 San Francisco Bay Area artists, with a number of commissioned works created exclusively for the show, including large-scale installations and more intimate works. The works of art are concerned with form, geometry and information systems; the subversion of worlds turned upside-down; questioning where construction and deconstruction meet; and examining the process of creating art itself.
Cracking Nutshells is on view at DZINE Gallery through October 2018.
Reception starts at 5:30 PM, followed by a discussion at 6 PM.Prosecco will be served.
