Dystinct - Bababa World Tour

at The Fillmore (8pm)
DYSTINCT is the urban artist sensation of the moment. With the hits 'Ghazali' - which became the song of the Moroccan team at the last Football World Cup in Qatar - and 'TekTek' - which travelled the world - the Belgian of Moroccan origin has managed to seduce both at home and abroad. And that's an understatement, because his songs, mostly sung in French and Moroccan Arabic with sometimes a touch of English, Dutch or even Spanish, are listened to by all generations, young and old, all over the world.

DYSTINCT was born in Antwerp, Belgium, son of an artist father who passed on his love of music. His first single 'No Ring Ring' in 2017 was an immediate success. The artist hasn't stopped since. His debut album 'Mon Voyage', released in 2021, went gold within a week. It immediately entered the charts in Belgium, Holland and Morocco. The singles 'Ya lala', 'Boussa' and 'Habiba' went on to win gold and platinum certifications.

In parallel with a completely sold-out international tour, DYSTINCT announces its second album 'Layali' ('My nights' in Arabic) for June 2023. An album that quickly became his consecration. In less than 3 months, the hit maker broke all records in France, where he earned his first 3 SNEP gold certifications: 'Business ft. Naza', 'TekTek ft. MHD' and 'Ghazali ft. Bryan MG'. Breaking records also worldwide, 'Ghazali' went straight to number 1 in the charts in over twenty countries. On YouTube, the video clip has already been viewed over +100 million times.

That same year, DYSTINCT was nominated for the NRJ Music Awards as 'Révélation Belge 2023', and won the title of 'Best North African Artist 2023' at the Trace Awards. In December 2023, the 'Layali' album track 'La' went viral, reaching number 13 in the world's most popular videos. Not to mention a number of international chart positions. In 2024, he wins the prize of 'Best album' of the year by FunX, the n°1 radio in the Netherlands.

Thanks to his catchy melodies and the different languages in which he sings, DYSTINCT has built up a solid fanbase that extends far beyond the Moroccan diaspora from which he comes himself. Most of his fans are divided between Central Europe - especially France - and North Africa. He has succeeded in blending the musical influences of his origins with the sounds that have shaped him from an early age, such as urban music, Arab music in general, afrobeat, kizomba and pop.

His soulful voice, his extraordinary talent and the fusion of all these influences in his music have made him the best artist of his generation in his genre to date. DYSTINCT is currently back in the studio. He is also touring Europe, Canada and the USA this year. 2024 is looking bright for DYSTINCT with new songs 'Wala 5,7,10', 'Salam' and the great success of 'Spider' featuring GIMS that already got Gold certified in France.
