Zoltán Kodály Duo for Violin and ‘Cello
Johan Halvorsen Passacaglia in G minor on a theme by George F. Handel
Maurice Ravel Sonata for Violin and ‘Cello
John Philip Sousa arr. Bruce Dukov The Stars and Stripes Forever

Violinist Arianna Warsaw-Fan and cellist Meta Weiss—duoW—burst onto the international music scene when their cutting edge music video, Ghosts and Flowers, went viral on the internet in the fall of 2011. Proclaimed by Nylon Magazine as "a major announcement" and with visuals described by La Scene Musicale as "a mix of Coppola's Marie Antoinette and Bram Stoker's Dracula alongside graffiti and modern cityscapes", the music video transcends the confines of classical music. The duo says: “… classical music is not just a relic of the past. It’s a growing collection of works, all of which express emotions that are just as relevant to our lives today as they were to the lives of listeners in centuries past.” Meta and Arianna have been performing together since they first met ten years ago at the prestigious Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. Both recent graduates of the Masters program at Juilliard, Meta and Arianna have both been recognized internationally for their astonishing musicianship and brilliant technique, garnering multiple awards and honors, and receiving recognition in major competitions around the world. The repertoire for tonight’s performance is drawn from their 2013 Sono Luminus Records CD release Entendre.
