Known for bassie tracks, rare licks, big tunes, jugglin' dope grooves, Beatnok is dedicated to riddim. After serving a healthy addiction to live music for years as a teenager, Beatnok picked up a set of needles and some headphones to gain a new addiction to vinyl wax. Hittin' the scene in 2001, he first dedicated himself to rocking the parties of Isla Vista (2001-2003). From 2001 - 2004 he produced the "Beatnok Show", a underground Hip Hop and Reggae culture program on KCSB Santa Barbara, with Ricky Flip. In 2003 Beatnok held his first three residencies at two venues in downtown Santa Barbara (Omaley's & Zelo's) and the Study Hall (Isla Vista, CA). Heading back to San Francisco at the end of 2003 to wrap up a degree in broadcasting, he began to solidify a foundation in the Bay Area. In 2004 he started his first local residency "Inna Da Light" which ran four years strong alongside Joe-L, Green B, Mr Lucky, Irie 1, Lumba and featured other Bay Area favorites as guests. Two years later he founded the now-prevalent I&I Vibration (I-Vibe), a like-minded crew dedicated to the up-lift of the masses with music in the dance. In 2007, Vibration founded "Skylarking" a Monday night all-vinyl dance specializing in Roots, Dub and Dancehall Reggae that has featured every major selector on the West Coast and beyond. 2012 saw him return to radio with Rebel Relief broadcasting as far as California's Central Coast and worldwide on the web. In addition to residencies, Beatnok has traveled all over the U.S., Mexico and Europe playing dances, festivals and shows. From backing and touring with artists like Konshens, Million Stylez, Ziggi Recado, Taranchyla, Ranking Joe, Al Pancho, Fantan Mojah, Rocker T, Luv Fyah, Bhingi Ghost and Songbird; to sharing bills with artist like, The Mighty Diamonds, Don Carlos, Culture, Steel Pulse, The Meditations, Rebelution, King Jah, Nayas, Lion Face and more. Beatnok is also an accomplished studio engineer who has linked up with some of the most noted sound systems, DJ's and MC's from all around the world. From residencies in San Francisco, to festivals in Humbolt and Michigan, and clubs in Washington D.C. to stages worldwide, Beatnok makes way across the land with music in hand.
