Dr.Runoko Rashidi Speaks On:The Global African Presence PAST Present FUTURE

Dr. Runoko Rashidi will make his 1st South Bay speaking appearances March 1st & 2nd, 2014 at Pan African City Alive 108 S. Sunnyvale Ave. Sunnyvale CA 94086.

Dr. Rashidi will speak on his 41 years traveling, researching and chronicling the world wide African footprint, carrying on in the legacy of his mentors, having worked closely with some of our greatest scholars, including Dr. Ivan Van Sertima, Dr. John Henrik Clarke and Dr. Asa G. Hilliard III.

Runoko Rashidi is a historian, anthropologist, research specialist, writer, world traveler, and public lecturer focusing on the African foundations of world civilizations. Based in Toronto, Canada, Los Angeles, California and Paris, France; to date, Dr. Rashidi has visited 103 countries, and lectured in fifty-seven countries.

Dr. Rashidi is the author or editor of eighteen books, the most recent being African Star over Asia: The Presence in the East, 2012 and "Black Star over Europe", 2011 both published by Books of Africa, in London, UK.

Dr. Rashidi is the author of "Introduction to the Study of African Classical Civilizations". He edited, along with Dr. Ivan Van Sertima, "The African Presence in Early Asia", considered "the most comprehensive volume on the subject yet produced". Dr. Rashidi also authored "The Global African Community: The African Presence in Asia, Australia and the South Pacific". In 2005 Dr. Rashidi released his first text in French, "A Thousand Year History of the African Presence in Asia" and has three books published in French by Editions Monde Global and Editions Dagan in Paris, France. As an essayist and contributing writer, Dr. Rashidi's articles have appeared in more than seventy-five publications. His historical essays have been featured in the Journal of Civilizations Anthologies, and cover the global African presence.

Dr. Rashidi is highly sought after information source, having been interviewed on hundreds of newspaper articles, radio broadcasts and TV programs and has made presentations at more than 125 colleges, universities, secondary schools, libraries, book stores, churches and community centers.

Runoko is the Traveling Ambassador for Marcus Garvey's UNIA & ACL and a co-founder of the Herudition Cultural Exchange in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.


Dr. Rashidi believes that his main mission in life is to help make Africans proud of themselves, to help change the way Africa is viewed in the world and to help reunite a family of people that has been separated far too long.
