DON'T SHOOT! A Requiem in Black is by writer/performer and San Francisco Jazz Poet Laureate, Genny Lim. She is joined by her longtime collaborator, saxophonist and composer, Francis Wong, and percussionist, Marshall Trammell. Lim was inspired by the stories of Sandra Bland and Philando Castile. In an invocation of spoken word, live music, movement and video, these two tragic victims of racial profiling and police violence will be honored. With a backdrop of ritual theater, DON'T SHOOT! calls on the audience to participate in the "score" with their own voices. Sandra Bland fought strenuously to reconcile the "Two Americas." She encouraged black people to make white friends and vice versa. That might be hard for African Americans to do, she said, but God was testing their ability "to show love to somebody who can hate you for no reason."

Rite of Egression is a new solo Butoh work choreographed and performed by Judith Kajiwara with soundscape by Sam Genovese. Kajiwara portrays in her inimitable dramatic style, the soul of a highly-evolved animal in an act of self-sacrifice experiencing devolution.
