Fantastic Worlds: Surrealism and Beyond

This exhibit explores how a group of artists in the early 20th century rejected convention and created works incorporating play, equipment, and fantasy that continue to influence artists today. The talk features images of works by early Surrealists Man Ray, Rene Magritte, and Salvador Dali and continues with an exploration of the Surrealists threads in the work of Jackson Pollock, Francesca Woodman, Cindy Sherman, Louise Bourgeois, and Ana Mendieta.
