Dirty Cello Bluegrass CD Release at Redwood Cafe

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The globe-trotting Dirty Cello band has a brand new album featuring their high-energy take on bluegrass. Toss out the fiddle, grab a cello, add some sweet sweet 3 part harmonies, and you've got something new, yet familiar. With a set of songs honed in diverse places like a bluegrass show in China, a beer garden deep in former east Germany, and even the wilds of Southern Oregon, the Dirty Cello bluegrass show is something you've never heard.

Dirty Cello will be celebrating the release of their brand new album, Bluesy Grass that features the virtuoistic playing of Rebecca Roudman on cello, backed up by a kickin' rhythm section including Jason Eckl, the story-telling mc on guitar, with special guests Ben Dubin from the David Luning band on bass, and Hannah Jern-Miller from the Bootleg Honeys on mandolin.

"Dirty Cello’s music is all over the map: funky, carnival, romantic, sexy, tangled, electric, fiercely rhythmic, and textured, and only occasionally classical." Lou Fancher, Oakland Magazine.
