And some of the best known American Celtic-punk bands (Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly) are composed of Irish descendents. Eight-piece Celtic-punk act The Dirty Artichokes, however, hail from Torino, Italy. It might seem an odd combination—Italian-Celtic-punk—but these guys nail it. The group's violinist and flautists play traditional Irish scales atop driving punk drums, as lead vocalist Budo sings about drinking heavily.
