Didi is a quartet who found one another on the edges of the Columbus, Ohio music scene in 2013. At University singer/guitarist Meg Zakany and drummer Sheena McGrath began jamming together as a means of exorsizing life's frustrations, then drafted in two musicians they'd admired from afar in the local DIY scene: singer/guitarist Kevin Bilapka-Arbelaez and singer/bassist Leslie Shimizu. Unusually didi has three singer songwriters in the band (singing both in English and Spanish) which makes for a multiplicity of voices and insights contained within abrasive and melodious noisy pop songs.
Try the Pie is a three piece band based out of the Bay Area. Founded by songwriter Bean Tupou (Sourpatch) with Nick Lopez (Ugly Winner) on the drums and Bailey Lupo (Fright) on the bass. All members met while playing music in and organizing events in San Jose punk and DIY.
