San Franciscans can learn how to build a Moog synthesizer and experience a live performance by legendary synthesist and electronic music pioneer Suzanne Ciani at Moogfest Dial-Tones at Gray Area Art & Technology Center on Saturday, March 5th.
Taking place in select cities around the world, Dial-Tones is an event series offering an exclusive preview of the Moogfest 2016 experience. Curated by Moogfest, Dial-Tones celebrates the form and frequencies surrounding ambient, drone, and microtonal compositions, as well as the technology behind the art of synthesis. The San Francisco edition is presented in partnership with Gray Area, a Moogfest 2016 Program Partner.

About Dial-Tones
Dial-Tones is a new series of Moogfest curated events celebrating the form and frequencies surrounding the art of synthesis, circuitry, drone, and microtonal compositions. Moogfest Dial-Tones is a partnership with Ace Hotel (in Los Angeles & New York) and select locations in San Francisco and Durham.
The Workshop
During the day, a Moog engineer will facilitate a 90 minute synth building workshop where participants of all skill levels will discover the beauty and power of analog circuitry and the principles of subtractive synthesis. Attendees should be prepared for a hands-on, intensive and fun learning experience.
The workshop is limited to 20 people so please only sign-up if you are sure you can attend. All workshop RSVPs will receive an email from Moogfest confirming attendance. Workshop participants may also purchase a special Moogfest ticket bundle:
