ABOUT CHUY GOMEZ
Chuy Gomez has one of the most recognizable voices in the Bay Area. For over 20 years, Chuy had been blessing the Bay with a unique blend of personality, humor, and music in San Francisco. Currently, Chuy along with his longtime partner Mind Motion can be found on 105.7/100.7 FM. Chuy can also be seen on television every afternoon hosting the California Music Channel.
Chuy has come a long way since his early days. Chuy grew up in South San Francisco, where he got hooked on radio at age 5, requesting songs on local Spanish-language stations. As a teenager, he spent most of his time DJing at local parties and dances. He got his start in radio on KSOL, San Mateo. Later when KSOL/KYLD Mancow joined the station as morning show personality, he saw Chuy's charisma and quickly added him to the morning show line up. Mancow had all sorts of tasks in store for Chuy, including the infamous Bay Bridge traffic hold up, a radio stunt that still has people asking about it. But Chuy (aka "Chu-Dog") was never meant to stay in the background, as longtime listeners will attest; he has been a solo personality there for more than 15 years. "He was born and raised here, has a good personality and brings that all onto the radio," said Sana G, KMEL afternoon jock. "He's an inspiration for everyone."
