Dawn and Hawkes
The magic was all there right from the start; long before they started co-writing or even fell in love. Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes first met in 2010 when he crossed an Austin barroom floor and asked her to dance. A modest beginning became an undeniable attraction the first time they sang together. Miranda Dawn admits “Our harmony just fell in and that was the moment we both felt that we should sing together. Something happened and it was as if there was suddenly this third voice.” She continues with more than a hint of genuine wonder “I’d sung harmony with other people before, but this was definitely its own beast.”
Lia Rose
San Francisco songwriter Lia Rose has had her feet firmly planted in the Bay Area independent music scene since 2005. She grew up in Southern California surrounded by her family's wind chime business and it was clear from the start that this young girl would one day be a performer. After studying at UC Berkeley, she spent nearly a decade performing in bands [Built for the Sea / Or, The Whale / Minipop, etc]. Since 2011 Lia Rose has established herself as a solo artist, performing live on NPR, KPFA, & Live105.
Lauren O'Connell
With some of the most beautifully understated music of this generation's country revival, San Francisco's Lauren O'Connell is a burgeoning luminary of the alternative side to that musical world, the folk-inspired heartbeat of songs both intelligent and deeply emotive.
