New Age piano virtuoso David Lanz' most recent album is a re-envisioning of his 1988 New Age chart topper Cristofori's Dream. The original album was conceived as a love letter to Bartolomeo Cristofori, the inventor of the piano, and now Lanz has pared it down and reworked the songs a bit. Lanz remains one of the most popular musicians in the adult alternative and New Age genres: some of his early albums are still strong sellers. He was nominated for a Grammy in 2000 for his album East of the Moon, but lost out to Kitaro's Thinking of You. --Stephen Layton
