Danielle Wertz Trio / Brie Capone: Jazz, Folk & Heartfelt Songs

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Danielle Wertz’s Old, New, Borrowed & Blue weaves together elements of jazz and folk and explores the stories we all experience but don’t always hear expressed in song. Going a step beyond just love and heartbreak, the music explores commonly experienced emotions and scenarios through originals and arrangements of jazz standards in an intimate trio setting.
On tour from Asheville, North Carolina, singer-songwriter Brie Capone then takes the stage to promote her latest EP, If I Let You In, a collection of introspective, original heartfelt songs.   FEATURING: Danielle Wertz Trio Danielle Wertz – vocals Lu Salcedo – guitar Owen Clapp – bass
Brie Capone – vocals, acoustic guitar   ABOUT THE ARTISTS: Danielle Wertz is an internationally recognized jazz vocalist, composer, and arranger. After being named a semi-finalist in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocals Competition in 2015, she self-released a duo project, Intertwined. Recorded at ABC Studios in Australia, Intertwined has been receiving high praise since its release. Frontman of his own trio, Lumama, Lu Salcedo captivates audiences with his intricate music. He is a recipient of the Jamey Aebersold Scholarship and a recent graduate of the California Jazz Conservatory. Owen Clapp is a bass player, composer, and songwriter. He has worked with Grammy Award-winning jazz musicians Kenny Burrell, John Clayton, and Ruslan Sirota.
Brie Capone is a singer-songwriter and performer from Asheville, NC. With belting female lead vocals and heartfelt, introspective lyricism with unforgettable melodies, Capone is a true original. As both a solo acoustic artist and with her band, she has performed at legendary venues including the Kennedy Center in DC, the Lincoln Center, the Asheville Music Hall, and Grey Eagle with such artists as Kevin Devine and John Kadlecik (Dark Star Orchestra, Phil Lesh).
