DangerAte is is a horn driven X-tet of young guns from the Bay Area playing JazzSFunk with fire and passion. They are set to emerge as the new hot thing on the scene. The band originally formed as an instrumental power trio in 2010, when founding members Daniel Cohen aka The D3 was nine and Tiger Kotschnig was 11. The band started doing covers of everything from Beatles and Who classics to Herbie Hancock and Jazz Standards. Now, DangerAte still do their Brass soaked unique takes on a diverse selection of classic material, and they have a number burning hot originals in the repertoire. The band performs in various configurations from 4-7 piece, with several of the members away at college. For this gig, with those members home, the band will be a seven piece with a 4 piece horn section. This is going to be a smoking hot gig, and a great kick off to the Thanksgiving Weekend!

Composer and guitar player Dave Ridnell ’s 30+ year musical journey has taken him around the world and involved collaborations with ZIgaboo Modeliste, Leroy “Funky” Harper (James Brown), Melvin Sparks, Viv Savage, and Brazilian artists like Chico Coelho and Bororó Felipe. His latest vehicle Sons of Happiness takes him and his acoustic guitar across the Americana landscapes of roots, rhythm & blues, folk, and jazz, at times feeling the warm breeze of bossa nova - all part of an original musical vision inspired by the likes of JJ Cale, Taj Mahal, Edu Lobo, and Chet Baker. Driving Dave’s songs forward is Daniel Cohen, aka The D3, a 17 year old spark plug from the Sunset district of San Francisco who brings anything he lays his hands on to the table: electric and standup bass, piano and organ, guitar, drums, voice, and studio production savvy.
