Exhibition Dates: April 27-June 9, 2018
Opening Reception: Friday, April 27, 6-8pm
SFAC Main Gallery, 401 Van Ness, Ste. 126
The San Francisco Arts Commission Galleries is pleased to present an exhibition celebrating the art and legacy of the Neighborhood Arts Program (NAP). Established in 1967 NAP provided a wide range of free or very affordable support services to artist and community groups; though no longer in existence its influence and legacy still resonate in San Francisco’s six cultural centers. Drawings, prints, paintings and objects made by three generations of artists closely associated with these centers will be featured in the exhibition. Additionally, the history of NAP will be on full display with hundreds of vibrant posters and flyers for neighborhood exhibitions, performances, screenings, literary events and art classes.
