Hans Uwe Hielscher, organ
Hans Uwe Hielscher is a German organist and composer, the organist and carilloneur at the Marktkirche in Wiesbaden, and internationally known as a concert organist.
Career
Hielscher studied church music at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold (A), and carillon in Utrecht. From 1969 - 1973 he was church musician in Juist and from 1973 - 1979 in Bielefeld. He has been the organist and carilloneur at the Marktkirche in Wiesbaden since 1979. He created a series of weekly free recitals called Orgelmusik
He created a series of weekly free recitals called Orgelmusik zur Marktzeit (organ music at market time) on Saturdays at 11:30 a.m., in which he and guest organists perform seasonal music. There have been more than 1500 recitals as of 2010. He also appeared in a regular New Year's Eve concert along with his colleague at St. Bonifatius, Gabriel Dessauer until 2010, and then with successor Thomas Jörg Frank since 2011.
Hielscher is active as a concert organist and has played more than 2500 organ concerts worldwide.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
There are no ID requirements for the concert series.
The concert space is quite acoustically live and open, so it's important to keep audience noise to a minimum to allow everyone to enjoy the music fully.
Children who are able to be quiet for the duration of a 45-to-50-minute musical performance are welcome. 
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption is located on Gough and Geary Streets. The 38 Geary bus stops nearby, There is also a parking lot. 
What can I bring into the event?
The performance takes place inside our sanctuary space, so please don't bring in anything to eat or drink.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Chris or Helena of the Cathedral Music Department can answer your questions. They're available from Wednesday through Saturday, between 10 am and 2 pm. The number is (415) 567-2020 x 213
What's the refund policy?
Donation tickets obtained through Eventbrite can be refunded up to a day before the concert.
