Bitchcraft
Bitchcraft Stringband was brewed in a cauldron of friendship, bluegrass, and artistry in the hills of Marin County. They have conjured a powerful potion of groove and harmony grounded in a love of traditional music. Bitchcraft plays an eclectic mix of traditional bluegrass songs, spirited old-time tunes, and thoughtfully crafted original songs that draw inspiration from the past. With soaring vocals, driving rhythms, and tasteful melodic interplay, the band presents a playful intersection of modern feeling and traditional sound.
Bitchcraft's style reflects the diverse influences and musical backgrounds of each member of the group. With inspiration from the likes of Hazel Dickens, Blue Rose, and Tatiana Hargreaves, the band brings a sound that is equally expressive and fiery. Bitchcraft includes Tonya Newstetter on guitar and vocals, Christine Wilhoyte on banjo and vocals, Ashley Readel on dobro, Jee-Hee Haar on fiddle and vocals, Amy Kassir on fiddle and vocals, and Sarah Jo Millar on bass and vocals.
Bitchcraft believes in music that supports community. For this reason, we donate a portion of money from every show to charity. Music touches hearts - it brings a community together with all the good feelings - so why not a little change in action too? Come join us for a night of sweet music and fun.

Karen Segal Trio
Karen picked up the guitar at age eleven and never really put it down. With her older brother playing piano and the next door neighbor playing saxophone in the background for hours every day, Karen was listening to an eclectic assortment of records and practicing Berklee guitar basics that she learned from then-Berklee student Dean Brown (Marcus Miller). After moving to Copenhagen as a teenager she played free jazz with Marilyn Mazur (Miles, Herbie, Chick). While living in London she studied jazz guitar with Cedric West (BBC Radio Orchestra) and performed Prince-inspired choreographed funk music. While living in Los Angeles she performed and recorded acid jazz with David Brown (Brazzaville) and trumpeter Elliott Caine. Since moving to the Bay Area in 2000 she has performed and recorded her original jazz with artists including Alan Hall, Marcus Shelby, Perry Thoorsell, Brian Rice, Josh Thurston-Milgrim, and Allison Miller. Her 2009 release "The Mystery Of Life" was proclaimed "a prodigious leap in jazz fusion" and described her influences range "from the bluesy styled arcs of John Scofield to the eclectic rock imagery of Pat Metheny"(JazzTimes 2009). JAZZIZ magazine (2009) described her music as "a particularly free-spirited style of jazz." Karen's most recent album "Open" with Karen on guitar, Josh Thurston-Milgrem on bass and Allison Miller on drums, was recorded in summer 2024 and is due for release in spring 2025.
