Everyone knows that a picture is worth a thousand words. But what about the elements that make up a picture? Why are diagonals dramatic and curves calming? Why does red feel hot and blue feel cold? Using examples from children's picture books, this hands-on workshop examines how the individual components of an illustration work to tell a story that engages the emotions of the reader. Participants will explore the use of graphic shapes and create a dramatic illustration from a familiar fairytale.
Please note: All ticket sales are final. Valid student ID required on day of workshop for student rates.
Non-members $60, members $55, Students with valid IDs $45.
