This show is a preview of new works by Craig Calderwood the last week in September, which will subsequently go on view in New York. Calderwood's drawings and tapestries address queer identity and life, pulling from personal narrative and the coded languages of underground communities to create stories that are often as amusing as they are poignant. In addition to this exhibition, Calderwood has an artist residency at Recology this fall, will be included in YBCA's triennial opening in October, and has a permanent public art installation opening at SFO next year, making it a particularly exciting moment for them.
