Led by new Conductor Nick Burdick, the 40-piece Corte Madera Town Band will showcase music that's all about our great state of California. Here is now Burdick describes these musical selections: "I'm excited to celebrate our wonderful state with this upcoming program. California has such a wealth of experiences, and we tried to choose music that highlights everything from the natural beauty of places like Yosemite, to history like the Gold Rush, and the golden age of Hollywood. We even uncovered a piece, the Panama Pacific Expo March, that was written for the 1915 fair but was only recently resurrected."

COME JOIN THE BAND!

The Corte Madera Town Band is actively recruiting new members of all ages and abilities while it works hard to raise the group's visibility. Conductor Nick Burdick describes these goals: "I've spent the last few years rebuilding the music program at San Rafael High School after COVID, and this year I felt like I had the energy where I could take on something new, and I wanted to start working with adults again. I've had a lot of fun working with this lively group of musicians of all levels. It's been especially exciting to see the enthusiasm as our membership and musicianship grows."

"I'm hoping to make the Corte Madera Town Band different from other concert bands in the area. We're exploring partnerships with community organizations to connect the band more with the Marin community. So many people became so isolated during COVID, and we want to create a band where musicians of all types feel welcome and feel connected with the many wonderful things happening in Marin."

Generous support for these concerts is provided by the Town of Corte Madera, the Marin Community Federation, Corte Madera Lions, and fans like you! The CMTB - also known as "Marin's Own" - greatly appreciates all of its supporters.
