As Modernism and Post Modernism enter the realm of art history, contemporary art begins to create powerful waves. Among the fast-changing currents of the contemporary art scene, paintings on canvas leverage their rich traditions and become a category to watch for. This Spring, we present six Chinese - North American Contemporary Painters at Misho Gallery’s Contemporary Tension: Between China and The West. These artists create with their eyes, hands, emotions, and their mastery of visual tension in the contemporary artistic language. They are Sharon Shen from Canada, with Jennie Cho, Jinghua Liu, Rebecca Nie, Liwei Wang, and Deng Pan from the San Francisco Bay Area.
