Characterized by its youth, brilliant playing, and soulful interpretations, the Ariel Quartet has quickly earned a glowing international reputation. Formed in Israel, the quartet moved to the United States in 2004 to continue its professional studies, later winning a number of international prizes, including the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, Franz Schubert competition in Graz, Austria, Székely Prize, and Banff International String Quartet Competition. In January 2012 the Ariel was named quartet-in-residence at the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, an astonishing accomplishment for such a young group. The Ariel Quartet makes its debut as this year's Music at Kohl Discovery Artists.
