Concert Program VIII: Bridging Dvořák

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Stent Family Hall, Menlo School (see times)
The 2014 season concludes with a linear perspective on Dvořák’s art, from the work of Smetana, Bohemia’s musical patriarch, to that of modern Hungarian and Czech composers. Following Dohnányi’s dynamic Serenade for String Trio, the program offers the haunting String Sextet of Erwin Schulhoff. Dvořák’s glorious Piano Quintet answers the resolute strains of Schulhoff’s sextet with a message of transcendent beauty.
Tickets: $78 (full price) | $35 (under age thirty)
