Preceding the concert from 2:30 – 3:30, Christina will lead a harp workshop - a community music-making experience. Come and play the harp! All levels are welcome, including those who have never played before. Bring your own harp, if you have one; small harps will also be provided.
Andrea Salvatore is an accomplished Italian tenor, and Christina Tourin is an internationally renowned artist, a second-generation harpist who started playing the harp at the age of four. She is the founder of the Scottish Harp Society of America, and is currently the director and founder of the International Harp Therapy Program based in San Diego, CA. Together as musical partners, Christina and Andrea tour Europe and the USA, giving workshops and concerts.
All proceeds will benefit flood relief efforts in the state of Kerala, India, which has recently experienced some of the worst rains and floods in recent history with hundreds of thousands left homeless and over 400 lives lost. With the rains having finally subsided, the immense recovery effort is now underway to get the state of Kerala back on its feet and the people back in their homes.
