Join musician and young adult cancer survivor Ethan Ostrow to Kick Cancer's Ass!
Ethan is a pianist, composer, and vocalist from Berkeley, now based in New York City. He has had the opportunity to headline and perform at some of the Bay Area’s finest venues including Yoshi’s, The Fox Theater, The Freight & Salvage and more. Ethan strives for an intense, lush sound and demonstrates deep personal expression. Having led a double-life as an actor for many years, Ethan understands the power of storytelling, and brings it to his music every performance.
Ethan was 18 years old and beginning his first year of college when he was diagnosed with Stage-4 Lymphoma. Although his experience in chemotherapy was extremely difficult both physically and emotionally, it was also a definitive period in his life when he began to understand the healing power of music.
Music lifted Ethan in his darkest hour, and it has been the catalyst behind his fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. So far, the he has raised over $30,000 for the LLS. Yet, the campaign to help end cancer is just getting started. Concert for a Cure promises to be another special night, now located at the legendary Yoshi’s Oakland, and featuring the revered saxophonist Dayna Stephens.
